Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Ithaca, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across New York run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Ithaca is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Ithaca is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We stopped by Sangam Indian Cuisine for dinner while in Ithaca. It was very difficult to find parking given the location of the restaurant. When we got there, we were seated quickly. However, the food was not great in my opinion. We ordered a Paneer sabji, but it had an overpowering tomato flavor. The rest of our food also did not taste as expected. Moreover, the waiter forgot to give us our rice. The portion sizes were too small and the price was too high. Overall would not recommend.

Had an average experience at Sangam Indian Restaurant. The restaurant has a somewhat old-fashioned setup, but it was comfortable enough. The service was slow. The food tasted good and was probably the highlight of the visit. One thing I didn’t particularly appreciate was being asked about leaving a tip while paying the bill. I prefer tipping to be my choice without feeling prompted. Overall, decent food and an okay experience, but there is definitely room for improvement.

I visited Sangam Restaurant in Ithaca on 06/20 and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience from start to finish. I rarely leave bad reviews, but this visit left me completely frustrated. Here is a breakdown of why our dining experience was so poor: Terrible Service & Delays: The food was served incredibly late. We sat waiting for an unreasonable amount of time before anything was brought to our table. Poor Food Quality: When the food finally arrived, the Tandoori Roti was completely unedible. It was entirely dried out and hard as a papad. Missing Items: We never received the rice. The menu/staff promised that rice comes with every dish, but it was never served to us despite it being a basic part of the meal. Awful Atmosphere: On top of the bad food and slow service, there was a disgustingly bad smell throughout the entire restaurant that lingered for our whole dining experience. It made it very difficult to even sit there. Between the awful odor, the missing food, and the rock-hard roti, I absolutely cannot recommend this place. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

I love having the Center Ithaca location in downtown. It's a great place to stop for lunch. You can smell how delicious it is as soon as you walk in the door, and the owner is a wonderfully kind and friendly person. The portion sizes are so generous as well, it's an incredible value for such delicious food.

I rarely leave good reviews, but this indian cuisine is amazing! The price, taste, amount were all far above my expectations, and the owner was friendly and welcoming. I am going to visit this place tomorrow before I go back to S. Korea.
